A stunning, natural African turquoise stone is accented with a handcrafted sterling silver bail in this pendant necklace. The stone has an earthy, organic feel -- with beautiful hues of blue-green, along with a natural matrix of black veining. MEASUREMENTS: Pendant measures 2-1/4" in length and 1-1/4" at widest point. I created a sterling silver bail to surround the stone and then wrapped it securely with abstract twists os sterling silver wire. The metal was hammered for an earthy, organic texture; then given a charcoal patina to enhance the detail. It is signed on the back with my initials and sterling stamp.
Although commonly known as African turquoise, this stone is a type of jasper found in Africa with a matrix structure and colors similar to turquoise.
