This one-of-a-kind necklace features a fabulous crinoid fossil stone accented with a handcrafted sterling silver bail. Crinoids are an ancient fossil group that first occurred in the seas over 300 million years ago. The stone in this piece has a stunning array of fossils in hues of of pink, gray, white and black. It is a dramatic chunky stone with a nice high polish and lots of natural pattern.
MEASUREMENTS: Pendant measures 3" in length and 1-3/4" at widest point. I created the bail out of solid sterling silver sheet; hammered it for an earthy, organic texture; then accented it with abstract twists of sterling silver wire. It's signed on the back with my initials and sterling stamp and comes on a 24" stainless steel twisted rope chain necklace.
